Our Mission

Our project "ERETO-Hope For Children" consists of 9 members whose mission is to enable the children from Lesoit and the surrounding area to attend secondary school regularly. There is already a preschool and primary school in Lesoit, although regular attendance is often not possible due to a lack of financial means for school uniforms, scholastic materials and a warm meal. Here, too, we would like to enable regular visits so that the level of education for a secondary school can be achieved at all.

The next secondary school is not within walking distance for the children and that is why it is very important to us to build one in the village center. The plot of land for the future school has already been purchased and should offer space for around 350 pupils.

It is a very special concern for us that the girls have access to education, because usually they are married mostly against their will in their early youth and become mothers themselves at a very early age.

A value adding solution to self-sustainability is supposed to be achieved through the cultivation of crops, bananas and a moringa farm. Powders and tablets can be made from the leaves of the Moringa tree, also known as the "Tree of Life" and enjoying increasing popularity as a "power food".

By selling these products, a small income can be generated and at the same time diseases in the Maasai community can be cured and prevented, which are caused by malnutrition, especially in times of drought.

If you have any further questions about our project and about the life of the Maasai, do not hesitate to send us a message using our contact form.
